Equal opportunities
for children and adolescents

Header BBBS

Our primary goal is to show children and young people perspectives and to support them with our career guidance. In addition, our work is to strengthen BBBS as a whole. Therefore, we also advise them in various areas relevant to the organisation.

These are the ‘Big Brothers Big Sisters Austria’ (BBBS)

Since 2012, BBBS has been supporting people on their way to a self-determined and successful future. The association is part of the world's largest mentoring network ‘Big Brothers Big Sisters International’ and works on the basis of international quality standards.

As an independent and non-profit organisation, BBBS works for more equal opportunities in Austria.

What BBBS does

The core of BBBS's work is one-to-one mentoring. An adult (mentor) is paired with a child, young person or parent (mentee). The resulting 'tandems' spend time together regularly, building a trusting relationship. The BBBS psychosocial expert team supports and accompanies the tandems in this process. In this way, BBBS facilitates moments that change lives - for mentees, mentors and future generations.

This is what BBBS cares about

The vision of BBBS is: Every person has the right to personal development and the chance to unfold their own potential. Through one-to-one mentoring, BBBS wants to provide people in challenging life situations with a confidant who facilitates positive relationship experiences and opens up new perspectives - on the way to a successful and self-determined life.

This is how we support BBBS

Big Brothers Big Sisters offers young people and children an excellent opportunity to master their lives despite challenging situations through 1:1 mentoring.

At this point, we would also like to make our contribution and are happy to support the mentors and mentees in the following areas:

  • Work experience days
  • Finding internships for the summer and preparing them for their work experience
  • Assistance with the preparation of a curriculum vitae
  • Information on how to apply properly
  • General orientation talks on where to go professionally

Furthermore, we regularly provide our expertise to the BBBS team through coaching, training and workshops. Be it challenges in recruiting, workshops in the marketing and event environment, on the topic of corporate influencership or the development of one's own LinkedIn presence.

In order to support not only with our expertise, but also hands-on, joint events are also planned with BBBS.

Apart from that, we also support the association financially.
