Business development managers: aligning companies strategically

Market analysis, the development of existing business areas and the opening up of new markets make the job as a Business Development Manager:in demanding, but also exciting. In view of increasing international competition, BDM is in demand in many industries as a business area for the future positioning and further development of organisations.

The aim is to keep an eye on the profitability of the company and to react to rapid economic change. Depending on the size of the company, BDMs work directly with the management. What are the tasks and responsibilities of business development managers?

Analysing, drawing conclusions, developing strategies – this describes the main tasks of business development managers in a few words. Based on continuous analyses, business development managers optimise existing corporate strategies and design new ones. They are also responsible for improving the company's operational performance and keep an eye on the potential of other companies, external specialists and the company’s own employees and resources in this context.
