AD / Entra ID Assessment Consultant (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Analyze the current On-Prem Active Directory environment including domains, forests, trusts, user and group structures, Group Policies (GPOs), and permission models
- Review the existing identity and authentication setup focusing on authentication methods such as Kerberos and NTLM and assess security posture and potential risks
- Assess the broader IT landscape and dependencies such as business-critical applications, file services, legacy systems, and interfaces
- Evaluate existing hybrid identity setups including Azure AD Connect, synchronization mechanisms, and federation scenarios
- Perform a structured Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) readiness assessment considering cloud readiness, constraints, and target architecture options (hybrid vs cloud-only)
- Provide a combined technical and business evaluation considering effort vs benefit, risks, prerequisites, and constraints
- Deliver a clear, decision-ready recommendation on whether to stay On-Prem, move to hybrid, or migrate fully to cloud, accompanied by a high-level roadmap for potential migration or transformation
Profile
- Profound knowledge and hands-on experience with Active Directory (On-Prem) and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Proven expertise in architecture assessments, advisory services, and Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Solid experience with hybrid identity scenarios including Azure AD Connect, synchronization, and federation
- Practical skills in PowerShell for automation, analysis, and scripting as well as experience with VBScript/Visual Basic Script for legacy environments and AD tooling
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Flows for process automation and integration into ITSM workflows
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex technical findings into clear and concise business recommendations
- Relevant experience in transformation or migration projects is highly advantageous
