JOB PROFILE
AUDITOR (M/F/D)

AUDITOR: CONDUCT AUDITS AND IDENTIFY OPTIMISATION POTENTIALS

Safety and trust are elementary values for every company, without which cooperation is impossible. Whether through international standards (e.g. DIN or ISO), sector-specific specifications or technical rules: Proven certifications ensure greater customer satisfaction and economic efficiency in the company. This is where auditors come in, who ensure security and efficiency in the company.

Questioning, observing, listening: To put a company through its paces, auditors accompany existing work processes. In doing so, they determine whether certain processes meet the requirements of current standards. These experts uncover weaknesses and find potential for optimisation in order to improve the company's own processes, to detect errors and risks at an early stage and to use the company's own strengths and opportunities.

How to learn to qualify companies

Auditors do not complete a classical apprenticeship or a special course of study. The path to the auditing profession leads via an "upward qualification" that you acquire in the course of your professional life. Ideally, you will already have gained in-depth knowledge and experience in your sector and will therefore be familiar with potential problems and challenges in certain areas of the company. It doesn't matter if you have experience in quality management or if you have dealt with the relevant regulations for the optimisation of standards and processes: This lays the foundation for working as an auditor. In an auditor training course you will learn the necessary tools for audits. On this path, you can become certified in a wide range of areas.

These include auditor certification:

  • ISO 9001 in quality management
  • ISO 14001 in environmental management
  • ISO 27001 in information security
  • ISO 45001, formerly OHSAS 18001, in occupational health and safety.

After successful completion of the training, you will receive additional specialised training on the regulations as well as audit experience, which you will gain in cooperation with experienced auditors. Only then will you be accredited by an accreditation body and be allowed to carry out audits in your chosen field in the future.
